Be Where How? is a content stream covering
mindful, metaphysical and nondual
concepts, books, and teachers
Be Where How? does not currently offer our own course although there is more content on the way—we are always writing, working on new films, recording new albums, and creating new design projects—but for now there is already a very healthy list of incredible online courses for more in-depth spiritual and contemplative study.
Here are a few that have been transformative for us and for our collaborators.
In 2014, Thay, as his students call him, endured a stroke and has not toured since that time.
But two years before that event, Sounds True had the privilege of fully capturing one of Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh’s final retreats. They then worked with his senior students to create an in-depth experience based on these immersive video dharma sessions.
More than a course in basic mindfulness, Body and Mind Are One is at once a living transmission from this legendary Zen master and a comprehensive learning series exploring a vast landscape of Buddhist principles and practices for a joyful life.
Self-compassion is treating ourselves with the same kindness, care, and understanding that we would offer to others when they suffer, fail, or feel inadequate.
Hundreds of studies are pointing to self-compassion as one of the most powerful resources for enhancing your emotional well-being.
Many first-time participants in our course are actually wary about being compassionate to themselves. Why? Because we fear that being too kind to ourselves will make us weak or self-indulgent. Or that we need to be “tough” on ourselves to stay motivated and reach our goals. In fact, research shows it’s just the opposite: Self-compassion turns out to be much more effective than self-criticism—for your success at work, health, personal relationships, and fulfillment of your aspirations.
Explore The Power of Self-Compassion with Chris Germer, PhD, and Kristin Neff, PhD in this 8-week online course designed to help you become more motivated and resilient.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR): Mindfulness is a basic human quality, a way of learning to pay attention to whatever is happening in your life that allows you a greater sense of connection to your life inwardly and outwardly.
More than three decades of scientific research at medical centers all over the world suggests that training in mindfulness and MBSR can positively and often profoundly affect participants’ ability to reduce stress, pain, illness, and medical symptoms while also learning to live life more fully.
Since its inception, more than 24,000 people have completed the MBSR training program. This online course includes 16 hours of downloadable video and audio instruction on mindfulness meditation, stretching, mindful yoga, and guidance for enhancing awareness in everyday life.
